I can’t wait for some snow. I love the family gatherings, Christmas music, warm, crackling fires, ornament and cookie exchanges. It’s a magical time.

As a small gift to my friends I’d love to share a special recipe that’s a favorite in my house. I make it every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s so simple and makes the house homey with its wonderful aroma. It’s not exactly a recipe from the 1800s, but it surely could’ve been—it’s that easy. Give it a try. You’ll be hooked, too.

Holiday Beer Bread~~3 cups Self Rising flour, 3 Tlbs sugar, a 12 –oz can or bottle of beer (at room temperature), 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1 cup raisins, (OR ½ cup raisins and ½ cup cranberries—I use cherry flavored!), a good shake of cinnamon. Mix all ingredients together and put into a sprayed and floured bread pan. Split the top with a knife. Cover and set in a warm spot for 30 minutes so the dough can rise. Cook in a 375-degree oven for 1hour and 15 minutes. Watch at the end so it doesn’t become too brown. Remove and while still hot, brush top with butter. ENJOY!!

Do you have a favorite recipe that’s fun and easy? If yes, why not share it with all of us.

May the joy and blessings this season of Jesus’ birth brings warm your heart and those of your family…… MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Texas Twilight Celebration!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 297px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0W-3HvSA9cs/TpmsIHcY06I/AAAAAAAAAII/5gXIJl8AlBQ/s320/CarolineFyffe_TexasTwilight_200px.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5663747261832156066" />
Hello and welcome! Lady Amanda (wink wink). And I’ll admit openly, I’m pretty much in love with Lord Vanguard, Lord of Braddock Hall, too. It’s so much fun. If you enjoy fast paced humor that will melt your heart, check it out on Kindle…

And, last but not least, Dianna Abbott is my monthly book drawing winner. I’ve just returned from a month long trip to California where Christmas, New Years and my birthday was spent with family and friends. We did a quick visit to Pebble Beach where quality time was spent with our two grown sons, a short trip to Oregon, and the rest of the time split between Danville and Shingle Springs. Time flew by, and now I’m home and itching to get back to the keyboard.

The day after my birthday I received fantastic news--MONTANA DAWN has been chosen by readers as 2010’s Best Western Historical! Thank you everyone who voted and also Love Western Romances Web Site who hosts the contest at the end of every year! I’m honored and thrilled to be this year’s winner considering the great books that were entered. I'm so delighted readers loved reading Luke and Faith's journey as much as I loved writing it. Please don’t wake me up if this is a dream…..

And last but not least, congratulations to John Slake who won the Chocolate and books Gift Basket! I hope you enjoy all the goodies.

ONCE UPON A TEXAS TWILIGHT

In the absolutely stellar month of June I not only found out Where the Wind Blows has been selected by Thorndike Publishing to be published in large print format for libraries, but also that Dorchester wants to publish the sequel to Montana Dawn. I can now concentrate on getting prepared for Romantic Times Booklovers Convention at the end of April. This event is sponsored by RT Book Reviews and is my first time to attend. I’ll admit I’m more that a little nervous.

Many authors have said it's fantastic and something they look forward to all year. The program offers over one hundred workshops, many spotlighting networking, book promotion and increasing sales. But, what sets RT off most from other conventions is that it’s geared toward authors meeting readers, with oodles of events planed just for that.

Cheers!
